In what can only be described as an unpredictable turn of events, Iraq has become a somewhat popular tourist destination. If you find yourself considering a visit to this country, make certain you purchase international medical insurance.

When most people think of Iraq, they think of the ongoing danger resulting from the U.S.’ military involvement. While efforts to rebuild the country are underway, it is still a dangerous area.

According to a CNN.com story reporting this new trend, the allure for visitors who now have direct flight access from many countries including the U.K. and Germany, is to see ancient cultural history and to explore a dangerous land. It is certainly not the typical vacation in Paris or London.

But with that adventuresome appeal comes the very real possibility of physical harm as fighting still occurs in the country.
